Privacy policy

The short version: the calculators run in your browser, we do not ask you to create an account, and the little we do collect is described below. If anything here is unclear, ask us at support@easyhairedit.com.

1. What we collect

Calculator inputs. The numbers and choices you enter into a tool are processed on your device. They are not sent to our servers. Some tools save your last inputs in your browser's local storage so they are there when you come back; that data stays on your device and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Server logs. Like every website, our hosting server records basic technical data for each request: IP address, time, page requested, browser type and referring page. Logs are used for security and to keep the site running, and are deleted on a rolling basis.

Email. If you write to us, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to answer and follow up.

Analytics (optional). When enabled, we use a privacy-respecting analytics configuration to understand which tools are used and where pages fail. Analytics only loads after you accept optional cookies in the consent banner. IP addresses are anonymized.

2. Cookies and similar storage

We use a consent cookie or local storage entry to remember your cookie choice, optional analytics cookies if you accept them, and local storage for tool inputs. The full list, with purposes and lifetimes, is in the cookie policy, where you can also withdraw consent.

3. Advertising and affiliate links

The site does not currently show third-party advertising. If we introduce advertising, this policy and the cookie policy will be updated first, the ad provider will be named, and ad cookies will remain off until you accept them. Some pages may contain affiliate links to products; clicking one may set a cookie on the retailer's site under the retailer's own policy. We earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.

4. Legal basis

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies: server logs are processed under our legitimate interest in running a secure service; optional analytics under your consent; email correspondence under our legitimate interest in responding to you.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who host the site or process email on our behalf, and only as needed for those services, or where the law requires it.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email support@easyhairedit.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA/CPRA; we do not sell or share personal information as defined there.

7. Children

The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security and retention

The site is served over HTTPS. We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Email is retained for up to 24 months after the last exchange unless a longer period is required by law.

9. Changes

We update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top tells you when. Material changes are highlighted on this page for 30 days.
